JAMMU, Mar 16: Former Minister and senior NC leader Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today said that BJP has betrayed the people of Jammu by not fulfilling the promises made with them before 2014 elections.
Sadhotra said BJP’s tall promises of abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A proved to be only havoc while people are still waiting for the BJP to deposit Rs 15 lakh in every body’s account. “The saffron party deceived common man by making false promises. The BJP leaders had promised to give 2 crore jobs to unemployed youth per year in 5 years but not a single youth has been provided employment. The people feel totally betrayed and disarrayed,” he said while addressing a meeting of party workers at Channo Chak in Marh.
The NC leader said the problems and miseries of common people have increased manifold in BJP rule at the Centre and the State. He said it is very unfortunate and sad that BJP first betrayed the common people and then made a biggest joke by saying promises were Jumlas. The way people have been betrayed by the BJP is very astonishing and the confidence of common man is now shaken.
The former Minister said the people of the country has made up mind for change and are waiting to teach lesson to Bartiya Janta Party (BJP). Stating that the policies of National Conference are always pro-poor, he appealed the people to support the NC and its leadership to mitigate their problems.
The meeting was attended by prominent NC workers of Kana Chak, Jaswan, Kalyanpur, Chano Chak and Shama Chak during which issues of ensuing Lok Sabha elections were discussed. Among those who spoke on the occasion were Swaran Singh Manhas, Mangal Sharma, Bindu Choudhary, Manohar Lal, Gopal Dass, Gajay Singh, Gharu Ram, Diler Ram and Vishwanath.
