JAMMU, Mar 18: The dead body of a missing man was recovered today from a ditch in Nagrota area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, Nagrota police today recovered an unknown male dead body from a ditch along a road near Ban Nagrota. He said the deceased man was later identified as Sumit Bhagat son of late Sham Lal, resident of Paloura.
Quoting family members of the deceased, the official said that the man had left his home at about 8 PM on March 13 but did not return back. He said a missing complaint of the deceased man stands registered at police station Janipur.
The body of the deceased was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for postmortem while Nagrota police had initiated inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC to ascertain the reasons of the death of the man.
