Shaheen conducts extensive tour of snow affected villages in Khari

BANIHAL, Mar 18: National Conference District president Ramban, Haji Sajjad Shaheen today conducted extensive tour to Village Sarachi and Arimarg, Bawa in tehsil Khari and took stock of the situation arisen after long spell of heavy snowfall during the winter.
He met people and also addressed party workers meeting in village Sarachi where locals apprised him about erratic power supply in far-off areas of the Banihal Assembly constituency due to snapping of electric poles and wires following heavy snowfall. The people also complained him about scarcity of drinking water in several villages.
Shaheen said the road connectivity to Khari -Mahu Mangit and Banihal -Mangit road is yet to be restored even after two months of snowfall and the delay in clearance of snow has badly impacted the mobility and added to the miseries of the people. He particularly referred to the blockade of Khari -Mahu Mangit road, Banihal-Mangit road and Chamalwas-Neel road, saying no serious effort is being made to restore these roads.
Expressing grave concern over the inability of the local administration in clearing the bottle necks on construction of Seeran-Sarachi road, the NC leader urged the R&B Department for taking up the construction work on immediate bases.
Shaheen also drew the attention of the Governor led State administration towards deficiencies in Education and Health sectors and sought immediate filling up of vacant posts as also stocking of adequate quantity of medicines in the Health institutions. He said complaints about defunct utility services have also been received from Khari-Trigam, Mahoo-Mangit, Pogal-Paristan, Sumar, Sarachi, Bajmasta, Chaka, Sarbagni, Bingara, Kumbla, Maligam, Arimarg, Buzla Senabati and Tanka.
Later, Shaheen also went to village Arimarg, Bawa where two persons had died and three others were injured due to shooting stones and landslide on Mahu road near Arimarg. He urged upon the Governor and the District administration to sanction ex-gratia relief in favour of the NoKs of the deceased and provide best possible and free medical treatment to the injured.
Tehsil president Khari Gulam Hassan Naik, Block president Khari Mohamed Ashraf Naik, block president Pogal-Paristan Riyaz Ahmed Mir, block secretary Khari Farooq Ahmed Goth, Block vice presidents Jalal ud Din, Mohamed Anwar Naik, Mohamed Shafi Naik, Youth leaders Tariq Ahmed Dar, Parvez Ahmed Manhas, Bilal Ahmed, Gulam Nabi and others accompanied the leader.
