JAMMU, Feb 14: On 11th day of their ongoing strike, the agitating Class-IV employees and casual labourers of Jammu University today launched direct attack on Vice-Chancellor Prof M P S Ishar for allegedly making false assurances.
The protesting employees assembled in front of the Administration block and held a demonstration there amidst raising of slogans.
While addressing the protesting employees, Krishan Chand, president of Non-Gazetted Employees Union, accused the Vice-Chancellor of misleading them over their demands. He alleged that the VC was not serious for fulfillment of the employees demands but to get the stir suspended. “If he has no power to take action on our demands, then what is the fun of constituting JU committees to hold discussion with the agitating employees, the NGEU leaders asked.
Pertinent to mention that the protesting NGEU is demanding regularization of casual labours and due promotions to the regular Class-IV employees.
