Azad, Omar to lay foundation stone of new Medical College

JAMMU, Feb 14: Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will jointly lay foundation stone of new Medical College in Jammu on February 17.
Talking to media-persons, Dayal Singh Wazir, general secretary of Shiromani Akali Dal and member of the Sant Manjit Singh Trust said that Mr Azad and Mr Omar will lay the foundation stone of Sant Manjeet Singh Institute of Medical Sciences and Research on Sunday at 10 am at Jeevan Nagar on Maralian Road, near Mahant Bachitar Singh College of Engineering and Technology.
Mr Wazir who is also general secretary Shiromani Akali Dal said this will be a premier and prestigious Super Specialty Medical facility available in the private sector in the region. He said Sant Manjeet Singh Trust created by Sikh religious personality Mahant Manjeet Singh ji of Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch, has already raised MBS Engineering College in Jammu which has already produced hundreds of engineers.
Several senior members of the community were also present on the occasion and hoped that Trust would continue such type of efforts for the welfare of the people of this State. Prominent among those present included Narbir Singh, Mohinder Singh, Kapoor Singh Dutta, Kulwant Singh, Manmohan Singh and Amrik Singh.
