JAMMU, Mar 20: A meeting of State apex body of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum was held under the chairmanship of Ganesh Khajuria, chairman JKTF, to discuss the various problems being faced by the teaching community, particularly pending salary of SSA teachers.
While addressing the meeting, Ganesh Khajuria expressed strong resentment over the pathetic attitude of the higher authorities who on the helm of affairs are playing cruel jokes with the teaching community of the State. He said that after the historical SAC decision of converting all the posts of SSA Teachers into Teacher Grade II, the authorities in the Education Department are not releasing the salaries as per the commitment made on the floor.
He said although the then Secretary School Education A K Sahu had transferred six months salary i.e., Rs 950 crore approx as per 7th pay commission w.e.f Sept 2018 for Masters working as Head Teachers in SSA upgraded schools/ Teachers Grade II into the State Treasury but the State Treasury has transferred only three months @147 crore pm the latest being today into the account of Samagrah Shiksha and the pending salary is still in the State Treasury for the reason best known to them.
“Teaching community, which is only dependent on their monthly salary is anxiously waiting for their pending salary as the month of March is overburdened with Income Tax, School fee of the children, Housing loans, essential commodities and moreover the medicines for the ailing parents,” said Ganesh Khajuria and appealed to the Governor Satya Pal Malik, Advisor to the Governor Khurshid Ahmad Ganai , Commissioner Secretary School Education Sarita Chouhan, Director Finance School Education, SPD Smagrah Shiksha Dr Arun Manhas to release the salaries of pending three months before 25th of this month and the 7th pay commission arrears w.e.f. April 2018 up to August 2018 in cash before 31st of March 2019.
Those who were presented in the meeting, included Yograj Slathia, Soorat Singh Toofani, Darshan Sharma, Gopal Singh, S Ravinder Singh, Rajinder Gupta, Kuldeep Singh Bandral, Mohd Iqbal, Shankar Singh, Raj Singh, Kuldeep Verma, Bharat Bushan, Sham Badyal, P D Singh, Sushil Sharma, Bua Ditta, Gautam Singh and many others.
