JAMMU, Mar 22: High Court has stayed the process initiated for holding KCS Judicial Main Examination.
The order was passed in a petition filed by Ajit Verma and Others, who submitted that respondents could not make a change in the selection process and the practice previously adhered to for holding the main examination. They have further submitted that notice dated 01.02.2019 issued under Endorsement No. PSC/Exam/ Competitive/ 2019 is bereft of legal sanctity.
After hearing Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi with Advocate Vaibhav Gupta for the petitioners, Justice Rashid Ali Dar observed, “pleas urged on behalf of petitioners are of public importance and debatable. It would be thus for the respondents to justify their approach in the response to be filed regarding what has been canvassed in terms of this petition”.
High Court directed that further action on the part of the respondents in terms of the process initiated for holding of KCS Judicial Main-2018 examination shall remain subject to further outcome of this petition.
Justice Dar further directed respondents to keep ready the relevant record for production before the court if need for examination of the same is felt in future which may include the answer books of successful candidates of previous examination held by Commission, of course, if same is deemed expedient for considering the contentions raised in the petition and at the bar, that tailor made answer books would not serve the purpose intended to be achieved”.
