RAJOURI, Mar 22: A large number of residents of Ward No 11, Thanna Mandi blocked the Thanna Mandi- Dhoke Road and protested strongly against the PMGSY authorities and District administration, Rajouri for making the life of local inhabitants miserable due to non-construction of protection walls, which caused large scale of landslides and damaged houses and fields of the locals.
The locals including Mohd Hafiz, Munir Hussain, Mohd Shafi, Zaffar Mehmood, Mohd Aslam have alleged that the PMGSY agency has neglected the portion deliberately whereas, protection walls were constructed on all other locations on the PMGSY road.
President Municipal Committee Thanna Mandi, Shakeel Ahmed Mir and SDM Thanna Mandi, Dr Mohd Tanveer rushed to the spot and pacified the protesting locals and assured that their grievances will be resolved within three days and administration will not leave any stone unturned to resolve the grievances. On the assurance of the SDM and president MC, the people lifted the protest dharna.
