JAMMU, Mar 23: A deputation of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) led by its president, Sunil Dimple here today met Sujit Kumar, DIG Jammu-Kathua range and submitted him a memorandum containing demands regarding situation of Jammu city.
The deputation demanded shifting of separatist leader, Yasin Malik from Kot Bhalwal Jail of Jammu to Tihar Jail.
Other demands of the deputation contained deportation of Rohingiyas and Bangladeshis and other outsiders from the Jammu region.
Dimple told the DIG that police should start combing and search operation in the localities around Jammu city for ammunition.
He said that Jammu has become a safe route transit camp for militants to go to other states.
Dimple said that nationalist people of Jammu region will stand with brave cops in fighting war against Pakistan sponsored terrorism.
He said that growing terrorism in J&K State and the country is a big threat.
JWAM leader said, due to shortage of cops in all the police posts the work is suffering badly and patrolling has also been curtailed.
After listening to the deputation the DIG assured to start police-public meetings soon.
Harbans Tondon, Ram Kapoor, Chaman Pawar, Sanyam Pandoh and others were also present in the deputation.
