JAMMU, Mar 23: In a major crackdown on drivers involved in violation of traffic rules and regulations, the police seized 39 vehicles and challanded a number of others during a two-hour long drive in Rajouri town.
On the directions of SSP Rajouri, Yougal Manhas, teams of police headed by Additional SP Liyaqit Ali, DySP Headquarters Govind Rattan, SHO Rajouri Ajaz Haider, SHO Women Police Station Rajouri, Sushma Thakur and Incharge PP Rajouri city, SI Suresh Sharma laid nakas at Gujjar Mandi chowk, Khandli bridge, Salani bridge, old Bus Stand and Workshop Bridge, respectively.
During this special drive, 39 vehicles including two wheelers were seized as the same were found plying on roads in violations of rules.
The teams also challaned 96 vehicle drivers for different violations of MV Act.
SSP Rajouri, Yougal Manhas has appealed guardians and parents of minor children not to allow them to drive vehicles before the prescribed age of 18 years and possess a license issued by motor vehicles department.
