JAMMU, Mar 24: Chief patron of the National Panthers Party (NPP), Prof Bhim Singh today declared to contest elections from Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha constituency.
Party chairman and former Minister Harsh Dev Singh has already been declared its candidate by the party from Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat. Abdul Rashid Ganie has been declared as candidate from Srinagar-Budgam constituency while Jahangir Khan from Baramulla – Kupwara seat.
While addressing media-persons Prof Bhim Singh alleged that some elements in bureaucracy are trying to mislead Governor on several political and administrative matters to favour traditional ruling parties and BJP in particular. He said under deep-rooted conspiracy against JKNPP leadership, some officials in Police and Civil have floated a story that Panthers Party is not recognized party as a result of which half of security of NPP Supremo, Prof Bhim Singh has been withdrawn by prompting wrong perception.

It is tragic that security cover under “Y” category to senior leadership of Panthers Party has been withdrawn besides Chairman of NPP, Harsh Dev Singh has also been given a token security of 2 PSOs and president of NPP, Balwant Singh Mankotia given nominal security. Same is the case with ex-MLAs Yash Paul Kundal and Faqir Nath. Their poll campaign has been restricted.
He said NPP decided to fight the electoral battle with the cooperation and love of the people to combat corruption, communalism and fight divisive forces.
Harsh Dev Singh and Balwant Singh Mankotia reiterated that mission of the party to protect and preserve endangered identity and secular culture of the State and especially Jammu Pradesh which has been vitiated by the traditional ruling parties National Conference, Congress, BJP and PDP that are sailing in the same boat of loot, plunder and chaos. They alleged that the manifesto of these political parties is to grab power and fill their coffers at the cost of neglected poor masses.
