Awareness prog on ‘Compassion for Animals’ held

JAMMU, Mar 25: Save Animals Value Environment held awareness programme on ‘Compassion for Animals and Prevention of Dog Bites and Rabies’ in Government Higher Secondary School Gurha Salathia.
The students of all age groups and class attended the programme. They were guided on animal behaviour, their body language and some do’s and don’t when dealing with dogs on the streets.
It was bought to the knowledge of the students that in our country the law recognizes that it is the fundamental duty of every citizen and that of the State to protect and show compassion for the environment, wildlife and all living creatures.
The resource persons from Save Animals and Value Environment, Rumpy Madaan and Gurvinder Kaur asked the children to take a pledge to keep water bowls for animals and birds outside their houses and localities so that no animal or bird dies because of thirst in hot summers.
The program was organized by Free Guiding and Councelling Cell Gurha Slathia and was attended by its active team members Rahul Slathia, Virpartap Singh, Sahil Slathia, Navdeep, Vidhi slathia and Khushboo Slathia were present.
Leaflets on compassionate education, prevention of dog bites and rabies were distributed among the students. Some common diseases among neighbourhood animals were also discussed and on spot treatment was also given to the interested students.
