JAMMU, Mar 25: Provincial Erstwhile GTU/JKSRTC Pensioners Association (Jammu), has strongly projected their demands before the higher authorities in the State Administration.
In a meeting of the Association held here today under the chairmanship of Ajit Singh Adyal (president), the members discussed their burning issues. They said that GTU/SRTC pensioners are suffering for long due to indifferent attitude of the JKSRTC Management.
They pointed out that disparity in time bound promotions under SRO 14 of 1996 and under SRO 28 of 1996 is still existing in case of GTU employees/ pensioners with effect from 1996; anomalies in pay scales issued under SRO 92- F of 2009 dated 24-4-2009 and Govt order No. 140-F of 2017 dated 1-04-2017 amending and incorporating some pay scales in favour of GTU / SRTC employees are still existing and not settled so far.
It was further pointed out that GTU/SRTC employees service has not been treated as essential service like those of the PDD, Public Health Engineering Department and Health and Medical Education Deptt etc which need active consideration of the Government when the drivers and other operations staff are employees 24 hours for the performance of their service. They said the Govt has divided the qualifying service into four categories of 33, 30, 28 and 20 years for getting pension wherein the pensioners have more qualifying service are getting lesser amount of pension than 20 years qualifying service. They further alleged that payment of outstanding arrears of 6th Pay Commissioner with effect from 1-01- 2006 to 2009 and payment of HRA /CCA is outstanding and arrears w.e.f 1-1-92 have not been settled so far.
Adyal urged upon the Governor to settle these genuine and justified demands of the employees and pensioners of JKSRTC.
KL Sharma, Isher Dass Ajit Parkash, Solakshan Singh, Bhajan Singh, Mohd Salim, Sharief Ahmed, OP Lakhnotra, BD Sharma and Hira Lal also spoke on the occasion.
