JAMMU, Mar 28: Lt Gen, Rakesh Kumar Sharma (Retired), State Spokesperson of BJP and In-charge Defence, Security and Soldiers’ Issues at BJP organised an Ex-servicemen Rally at R.S Pura.
Captain Bana Singh (Retired), Param Vir Chakra also attended the rally where over 500 Ex-servicemen participated.
Before the start of the rally General Sharma and Captain Bana Singh paid tributes to the fallen heroes by laying wreaths at their memorial.
Speaking on the occasion, General Sharma lauded R.S Pura for being the land of the brave soldiers including Bana Singh.
“Also this area is the best cultivated area of J&K with famous Basmati rice. Hence the true land of Jai Jawan and Jai Kisan,” he said.
He further said that he joined BJP as it is a Party with an ideology of nation first and self last.
He urged the veteran community to spread patriotism in the society and be ambassadors of peace and brotherhood.
He also listened to the issues and problems being faced by the Ex-servicemen and assured them of earliest amelioration.
