JAMMU, Mar 28: The 10th Natrang Theatre Festival started here today with Hindi Play ‘Sabse Bada Aadmi’ written by Bhagwati Charan Verma and directed by Neeraj Kant.
In welcome address, Natrang Director Balwant Thakur informed that Natrang has already created a record in the country by showcasing 40 different plays in 11 months.
The play opens at a restaurant where different people have gathered to have tea and all have their own opinions about their role models whom they say is the biggest person of the world. One person has a firm view that ‘Napoleon’ was strongest, another contradicts that it was ‘Shelly’ and suddenly they both were contradicted by yet another person for whom the only biggest person is ‘Mahatma Gandhi’ while someone more mentioned about Lenin and the scene turns ugly with fight like scenario when a new person enters the restaurant and diffuses the situation.
He was with everyone yet with none. He praised all the discussed legends differently without offending the critics. At last he announces that indeed he is the biggest man of the world which all of them will agree once he leaves. Everyone mocks at him for his self praise and he leaves unnoticed. To surprise of all, that person was a crook who had cut the pockets of all and made them look stupid in their own eyes.
Artists who performed in the play were Abhinav Sharma, Sushant Singh Charak, Sumit Raina, Udit Sagar, Bhrigu Sharma, Chahat Katyal, Manoj Kumar Lalotra and Kuldeep Angral.
Ajay Kumar Lalotra rendered the lights and the music was scored by Aarti Devi. Vanshika Gupta presented the show and Mohd. Yaseen coordinated.
