Youth, parents killed in mishap

REASI, Mar 29: In a tragic road accident, a youth along with his parents died when a Tempo Traveller, owned by the family, rolled down into a deep gorge near village Chillad of tehsil Thuroo, under the jurisdiction of Arnas Police Station, here this morning.
The youth, who was driving the Tempo Traveller, and his mother reportedly died on the spot while the father succumbed to his injuries at Primary Health Centre (PHC) Dharmari.
The deceased were identified as Tanver Ahmed (22), his father Shad Ali (48) and mother Sofia Begum (45), residents of village Chillad. Click here to watch video
The Tempo, bearing registration number JK14B-2114, was on way from Chillad to Dharmari when it skidded off the road and fell into deep gorge at Barlla near Chillad village, this morning around 8.30 am. Some locals rushed to the spot where the son and mother were found dead while the father had sustained critical injuries.
With the help of Police, the injured father was rushed to PHC Dharmari where he was declared dead soon after his admission.
Meanwhile, Congress candidate from Kathua-Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency, Vikramaditya Singh has expressed grief over the loss of three lives in the tragic accident and appealed the Governor to grant Rs 5 lakh as compensation to the next of kin of the deceased besides taking effective steps in checking frequent road mishaps.
