Paswan takes jibe at Opposition alliance, says Gathbandhan has turned into ‘Latthbandhan’

AHMEDABAD: Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party leader Ram Vilas Paswan on Saturday hit out at the grand alliance of opposition parties saying that the Gathbandhan (alliance) has turned in to a Latthbandhan (an alliance of batons or Lathis holders or those who fight with one another).

Addressing a meeting organized at Sardar Patel chowk here before the nomination of Amit Shah as BJP candidate on Gandhinagar Loksabha seat, Paswan also claimed that the NDA led by BJP would make a comeback to power with a bigger majority than that of last election.

He said that Shah has strengthened the BJP by making elaborate booth level visits across the country. The jodi (pair of) Shah and PM Narneda Modi work day and night. ‘We often wonder whether PM Modi ji ever sleeps or not and if at all he sleeps when does he do that,’ he said.

Paswan said that earlier when slogan of Congress free India was chanted some doubts raised in our minds but today it was a reality as Congress looks nowhere.

In his own typical style he said, ‘ The Gathbandhan has turned in to Latthbandhan. The opposition parties which were fighting among themselves are now trying to be one. But I claim with surety that NDA will return to power with more seats than that of last time. I had said 3 years back that there was no vacancy for PM post for opposition in 2019.’

He said that Modi government was working for the empowerment of poor. It has made many memorials for Ambedkar, who was the only leader of Dalits. It has also made Birsa Munda university for tribal people. Given constitutional status to the OBC commission. Relieved tax payers by raising the minimum limit. Provided loan to poor under Mudra scheme and promised house for all by 2022. It has worked for all the the communities.

Paswan said that Shah who had extra ordinary organizational skills was a great leader. He said that he used to hold the world record for biggest victory margin on a Lok Sabha seat but wished that Shah breaks all the previous records to win the Gandhinagar seat.
