SRINAGAR: A motorcyclist and his pillion mate were critically injured after security forces fired at them, for allegedly ignoring the signal to stop at a checkpoint in south Kashmir district of Pulwama on Saturday.
Official sources said the accused were identified as motorcyclist Shahid Farooq and his pillion mate Suhail Ahad Dar.
They were signalled to stop at a checkpoint in Bandzoo of Pulwama, at around 1815 hrs, by security forces.
However, the tried to jump the checkpoint.
”The security force personnel at the checkpoint fired at the youth, resulting in critical injuries to the duo,” they added.
They said the injured were immediately taken to a local hospital, from where they were referred to SHMS hospital in a critical condition. (AGENCIES)
