POONCH, Mar 30: District Police Poonch solved a burglary case within an hour from its occurrence and also arrested the burglar and recovered the stolen property today from his possession .
Reports revealed that on the intervening night of March 29/30, 2019, one person namely- Mumtaz Ali (38), son of Abdul Rehman, resident of Bhatidhar Mendhar, an employee in Sheep Husbandry Deptt, broke the donation box of Ziarat Sharief Sain Elahi Baksh at Battalkote (Loran) and decamped with Rs 28635 cash.
The accused person also used his motorcycle bearing registration No. JK02P-5423 as a mean of conveyance . After committing the offence, he was on way from Battalkote to Poonch.
Consequently, under the supervision of SSP Poonch, Ramesh Angral, teams led by DySP Hqrs were constituted and SHO PS Mandi Ravinder Rakwal and SHO Loran, Tilak Raj swung into action immediately and accused was stopped at by a naka party within the jurisdiction of PS Mandi but he over speeded but was chased and overpowered.
During questioning, he admitted the offence and the cash and the tools used for breaking the safe were also recovered from him. On this, a case FIR No. 01/2019 U/S 457/ 380 RPC stand registered at P/S Loran and investigation was taken up.
