Drug license of proprietor involved in NDPS case suspended

JAMMU, Mar 30: The license of the proprietor involved in NDPS case has been suspended.
As per police sources, on March 15 this year, a case under FIR Number 28/19 under section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Miran Sahib wherein 6000 intoxicant capsules were recovered from the accused namely Lovedeep Nath alias Daleep, son of Anil Nath of Nepal, at present Raghunath Bazaar, Jammu and Jaswant Singh, son of Sohan Singh of Nagrota, Jammu.
During the course of investigation, based on evidence collected, a person namely Ajay Kumar Anand, son of Chaman Lal of Mohalla Partapgarh, Jammu was found involved in the said case and he was arrested.
The said person was found to be possessing a Wholesale Drug License issued in favour of M/s Raj Pharma, Raghunath Pura and was operating a shop in Raghunath Bazaar.
“It came to light during investigation that the proprietor would get consignments of intoxicant capsules through a courier from outside the State, which he distribute and sell further in Jammu”, sources said.
Since this amounts to a violation of the drug license issued under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, an application to this effect was submitted by the office of SDPO RS Pura Sourabh Prasher to the Deputy Controller Foods and Drugs Organization, Jammu, who in turn ordered the suspension of the operations of the firm until further orders and completion of investigation of the case.
