Srinagar, Mar 31: Former Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh today said that political parties in Kashmir are praising militants and Pakistan for electoral gains.
Singh while addressing BJP workers rally in Shatloo area of Rafiabad in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district said that political parties like National Conference, People’s Democratic Party, Congress always fooled Kashmiri people for their own power. “The political parties always misled Kashmiri. They give an impression that if people don’t vote for them Centre will kill Kashmiri people. Reality is that they are doing this since 1970 for their own power and vote bank”, he said.

He accused the political parties in Kashmir of supporting militancy. “If these terrorists don’t belong to anyone, not to common people of Kashmir and India. And all these parties you’ve been voting are harbouring these terrorists, indirectly support them. They don’t hold guns but their slogans and language are in favor of terrorists”, he said.
“When tribals came who were supported by Pakistan, but Kashmiris stood against them and acceded with India and 70 years on the current scenario you’re seeing is because of the successive Governments here”, the BJP leader said.
“Pakistan had always supported “terrorism” and never tried to have a dailogue with India so that people from both sides could live a peaceful life”, Singh said.
“I have been to Pakistan couple of times, to Lahore, Islamabad, Mirpur and I have seen how people there live in fear. You’ve seen how small kids were killed in their schools, weren’t they Muslims”, he said.
“You’ve seen for five years that PM Modi initiated peace process like Atal Bihari Vajpayee did with Pakistan but they never understood. Pulwama attack happened and I was in Rajouri where from some Muslim soldier were killed in that attack”, he said.
The former Deputy CM said that they have sent a strong message to Pakistan by air strikes on Balakot. “These attack don’t see for the soldiers of a specific religion and then we had to take some action and we did hit the terrorist camps in Balakot and sent this message to the whole world that Pakistan should understand that we want peace in the region and be friendly with our neighbors so that issue of terrorism could be addressed and stopped. If Pakistan and his government would be sincere we together can deal with terrorism and people in India and Kashmir can live in peace and that would be useful for the people of Pakistan as well”, he said.
