Copper, nickel soften on global cues, sluggish demand

NEW DELHI, Feb 16:  Copper and nickel prices fell up to Rs 3 per kg on the local non-ferrous metal market today largely in tandem with a weak trend overseas and sluggish demand at domestic spot markets from consuming industries.
Traders said weakness in copper and nickel was mostly in line with subdued trend overseas amid fall in demand at domestic spot markets.
In the national capital,copper mixed scrap fell by Rs 3 to Rs 447 per kg, while nickel plate (4×4) shed Rs 2 at Rs 1,078- 1,081 per kg.
The following are metal rates per kg:
Zinc ingot 125-131, nickel plate (4×4) 1,078-1,081, gun metal scrap 227, bell metal scrap 229, copper mixed scrap 447, chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 147, lead imported 145, aluminium ingots 140, sheet cutting 141, aluminium wire scrap 144 and aluminium utensils scrap 140. (PTI)
