UDHAMPUR, Apr 3: Coming down heavily on Dr Jitendra Singh for creating unfounded euphoria in the Udhampur constituency over development, senior Congress leader and party’s Lok Sabha candidate Vikramaditya Singh today said that the poor condition of villages including Saddal, Kalota-Malhotri, Sangwali and others adopted by the sitting MP and BJP candidate from the constituency to make them ‘Model Villages’ was self-explanatory that development by BJP was only on papers and on ground the people were craving for basic amenities as never before.
Addressing a series of public meetings here, Dogra scion Vikramaditya Singh said that BJP, which got exposed on various counts including Achhe Din, Swachh Bharat, Kala Dhan, farmers’ issues, etc, was now taking refuge by diverting people’s attention towards Chowkidar campaign, and similar other meaningless campaigns so that real issues do not haunt the party in the Lok Sabha polls.
Taking into confidence the people of Udhampur-Kathua constituency, Vikramaditya said that it is only the Congress party which can look after the needs and aspirations of the people by the real time connect it has developed in its vast span of existence and broad base.
Unveiling his core agenda, on which his entire focus shall be laid, Vikramaditya Singh said that inclusive approach, justice to all and all-round development will be his top priorities besides upliftment of underprivileged.
Taking a jibe at Jitendra Singh, he said that the Minister should also click his selfies with dilapidated infrastructure in villages adopted by him and make the same viral so that people may know the real face of BJP’s development. “If the BJP leadership could not develop these four-five villages in five years with full backing of all central and State resources, then one can well judge that it will take several centuries to develop India”, he said.
