2 crore grant – a miscued shot at goal

In this developing fever for the football as of late in India, subsequent to facilitating the FIFA U-16 World Cup where once described as “the sleeping giants of the world Football” and as of late closed FIFA World CUP, Neeta Ambani’s and Hero ISL’s image of “Let’s football” is on for a roller coaster ride in the diverse parts of the nation including the territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The Real Kashmir football club from Kashmir is performing up to the mark in the I-league so far. Additionally, the grant of Rs. 2 crore annually for three years is conferred upon the team by the State Administrative Council (SAC), J&K under the chairmanship of the Governor of the state, Satya Pal Malik. It appears to be a fantasy circumstance, however, no, it isn’t at all. Wouldn’t you say so? If not, examine this.
“The problem is that rich are getting richer by not giving and poor and getting poorer by not receiving.” ? Santosh Kalwar Real Kashmir FC being a private club claimed by Shamim Mehraj and Sandeep Chattoo with 5 foreign players and a foreign coach and out of nothing deliberated upon with the shower of such big sum isn’t exactly uplifting news. There is another perspective to this story. After the dismal showcase of the Indian Football Team in the Asian Cup and with an untimely exit from the Tournament, this idea of raising the dimension of the football in India and in various parts of the nation by acquiring these outside players and paying them overwhelming wages appears in peril. The State of J&K where earning the livelihood has turned into a gigantic hindrance for the youth and to dispense such grants to a privately sponsored team like Real Kashmir FC involving outsiders is injustice to the Football players (employees) playing for the different State Administration Offices like J&K State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC), J&K Police (JKP), J&K Forest, J&K State Power Development Corporation (SPDC), etc on contractual cum consolidated basis with meagre salaries. All these Govt. claimed teams felt cheated and agitated by this grant by the SAC to the privately sponsored team like Real Kashmir FC when all Govt. Department teams and their employees are already suffering with the lack of wages, proper Infrastructure, professional coaching academies, structured training sessions, stringent coaching techniques, constant encouragement trials, tournaments, grounds, supporting staff, fitness material and so forth.
To raise and promote the football brand in the nation, the grants should have been disbursed frequently to these Govt. Department Teams first to support their livelihoods and to build up the grassroot level football which is the unparalleled method to observe Indian National Football Team playing in the greatest Football competitions including the FIFA World Cup. The ISL and I-League Brand of football by acquiring the Foreigners to elevate the dimension of the football in the nation appear to be a long way from effective. Appropriate Infrastructure, proficient instructing institutes, organized instructional meetings, stringent training methods, consistent consolation preliminaries and competitions for all ages is the path forward. By providing these facilities, it winds up less demanding to distinguish the correct ability from a more extensive pool and furthermore make a domain to take a stab at these youths. Grassroots football is the beginning of a kid’s first prologue to the “beautiful game.”
Moreover, in the State of J&K, such grants can do wonder with the brand of the “beautiful game” notwithstanding job of these Govt. department Teams employees who buckle down to elevate the brand of football and to acquire the livelihood for their families. Eventually, the “beautiful game” ought to stay beautiful yet with this type of miscue shots at objective, future in football appears anything other than bleak and disheartening. At last, as Miami Fusion manager Ray Hudson once said, “I’ve got nothing to say. Any questions?”
