SRINAGAR, May 8: Dr. Aziz Hajni, President, Adbi Markaz Kamraz and Convener, Kashmiri Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, called on Governor N. N. Vohra, at Raj Bhavan here today.
During their meeting, the Governor and Dr. Hajni discussed the literary and cultural scenario of the State.
Dr. Hajni briefed the Governor about the activities of the Adbi Markaz Kamraz and of the Sahitya Akademi aimed at the promotion of Kashmiri language and literature. He informed the Governor that the Sahitya Akademi is organizing an International Kashmiri Conference at Srinagar in August this year.
The functioning of the Shaikh-ul-Aalam Chair, University of Kashmir, also came up for discussion during the meeting.
