JAMMU, Apr 4: Continuing previous traditions, 25th Purmandal Chhari Yatra was organized today by Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Management Trust, Gandhi Nagar Jammu under the leadership of Gulchain Singh Charak, president of the Trust and former Minister.
The Maces, whose Pooja Archana was arranged at Shri Ranbishwar Temple on April 3rd to save time to reach historical Purmandal shrines were taken out firstly to Shri Raghunath Ji Temple for Pooja in the morning and there from the Maces reached Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, Gandhi Nagar.
The Holy Maces were received by the Management Committee and Pooja was conducted by the learned priests of Sanskrit Vidayalay and Shastris of the Temple. Kavinder Gupta, former Deputy Chief Minister, Vikram Randhawa, MLC, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor, Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor and local Corporator Bhanu Mahajan, along with Management Trustees and hundreds of local devotees participated in Pooja of Holy Maces.
After completion of Pooja, the Holy Maces were kept in beautifully decorated Rath for onward journey in a long procession, where hundreds of devotees chanting ‘Bham Bham Bhole’ proceeded to Shri Mahadev Temple, Shastri Nagar. From there the Rath proceeded to Shiv Temple, Greater Kailash, Narsinghdev Ji Temple and Data Ranpat Dev Ji Temple Birpur and then to Kharah Madana where large number of devotees, besides members of Muslim and Sikh biradari led by Haji Bashir Ahmed Malik and Kulbir Singh had arranged refreshment for the participants to show solidarity of all religions.
Finally, the Yatra reached at Holy Purmandal shrines where the Maces were received by the Purmandal-Utterbehni Shrines Development Committee along with thousands of devotees, prominent persons of the area and members of the Langar Sahayak Samiti, Bari Brahmana.
While speaking on the occasion, Mahant Rishi Ban expressed satisfaction over the enthusiasm shown by the devotees and the people of Jammu and urged them to follow the steps of Saints and Seers of this great nation for dwelling a contented life.
