SOG recovers 210 Kgs of poppy straw, arrests narcotic smugglers

KATHUA, Apr 4: Continuing its drive against drugs, SOG Jammu achieved a major success by recovering 210 Kilograms of poppy straw at Dayalachak -Dinga Amb road near Sallan under the jurisdiction of Police Station, Hiranagar this afternoon.
Reports revealed that SOG Jammu laid a special naka at Sallan with the sleuths of PS Hiranagar. A truck bearing registration No. PB08 CX – 9892 was intercepted which was coming from Kashmir towards Punjab and cops detained the narcotic smuggler who were smuggling the contraband in the truck which was concealed in six bags in the rear side of the truck.
They have been identified as Jorawar Singh, S/O Saroop Singh, R/O Village Behram Sarishta, Police Station– Bhogpur district – Jalandhar, at present C/O Mohan Lal, Hoshiyarpur near Naveen Public School and conductor – Dheeraj Kumar, S/O – Subash Kumar, R/O village Dhilwan, Mohalla – Sundar, PS – Nangal Shama.
A case FIR NO: 42 /2019 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Hiranagar.
The whole exercise was closely monitored by SSP, SOG Jammu, Sandeep Mehta- and was carried out under the supervision of SSP Kathua, Sridhar Patil.
Further investigation into the case is going on in PS Hiranagar.
