NYAY will uplift socio-economic status of nation: Cong

REASI, Apr 5: NYAY scheme (Minimum Income Guarantee Scheme) announced by Congress president Rahul Gandhi is historic and will be a game changer for the about 25 crore poor and downtrodden people of the country, said Dr Rashid Choudhary, Member AICC and spokesperson of Congress party.
Dr Rashid who was flanked by Kewal Singh, DCC president Reasi and Amit Sharma AYC president Reasi, while addressing the media persons here, said that NYAY scheme will act as a stimulus to the Indian economy and will bring the desired change in the socio-economic structure of the nation which will help in making India a super-power. He further said that this scheme will undo the “Anyaya” committed by the radical steps of Modi Government like demonetization and unsuccessful launch of GST.
The Congress spokesperson lambasted the BJP for promoting false propaganda against this historic scheme and termed it as the biggest initiative of independent India to eradicate poverty and do justice with millions of poor and downtrodden of the country. He said that BJP is afraid of losing the upcoming General elections and propaganda against such a noble initiative shows sheer frustration of BJP.
Describing the NYAY, Dr Rashid revealed that as per the scheme, poorest 20 percent of the families in the country would be guaranteed Rs 72000 a year and this amount will be deposited directly in the bank account of the women head of the family. “More than 5 crore families and around 20 percent households will be benefitted by this historic step. NYAY Scheme has been supported and endorsed by top economists of the country and is a great way of ensuring empowerment of womenfolk,” he added.
Dr Rashid appealed the people of the State to vote for coalition and Congress candidates in the upcoming Lok Saba elections. Yashpal Verma, ex-Chairman MC Reasi, Munchi Ram Salaria and Satya Parmar, Mahila Congress president Reasi, were also present on the occasion.
