30 bovine animals rescued

UDHAMPUR, Apr 5: Foiling two attempts of bovine smuggling, Udhampur Police today rescued 30 animals and also arrested one smuggler.
Giving details, SSP Udhampur Rajiv Pandey said that a Police party , led by SHO Chenani, Insp Paramjeet Singh, under the supervision of SDPO Santokh Raj laid a surprise naka at NHW, Motorshed Chenani and intercepted one truck JK 02BU- 5277.
During the checking, 24 bovine animals were found loaded in this vehicle without any permission. All the bovine animals were rescued and the accused driver namely Mushtaq Ahmed son of Mohd Shafi of Beli Charana, Jammu was arrested on the spot and the vehicle was also seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No.33/2019 U/S 188, RPC, 3 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Chenani and further investigation is going on.
In another case, police patrolling party of PP Ghordi led by Insp Narinder Singh, SHO PS Ramnagar, assisted by SI Arun Slathia IC PP Ghordi, intercepted six bovine animals which were taken on foot by the smugglers without any valid permission. All the bovine animals were rescued even as the accused smuggler fled away from the spot.
In this connection, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Ramnagar and further investigation is going on.
