KISHTWAR, Apr 6: A driver was killed when the tipper he was driving skidded off the road and plunged into gorge near Kuwer Dool area, here today.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK14-8987 was on its way from Padder towards Kishtwar, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down into gorge near Kuwer Dool area, causing serious injuries to the driver.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and with the help of locals rescued the injured driver.
The victim was shifted to District Hospital, where he failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Javid Iqbal, son of Mohammad Iqbal of Hunjalla District Kishtwar.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at concerned police station and investigation started.
