The travesty of the levels of the standard of opposing the Government, many a time, crossing the limits set by democratic norms as unfortunately witnessed in respect of India’s air strikes in Balakot terror camps in Pakistan followed by questioning every move of the Government that was feared to make it earn points of popularity among the masses, is perhaps more disturbing than the conventional belligerent neighbour Pakistan’s tantrums by enacting feigning of the inventory of its entire F-16 tallying with the records. That stand of Pakistan was half heartedly endorsed by a magazine of no import published from the US. However, this all was aborted and rubbished with backing proof by the IAF authorities on April 8.
Radar images were released by the Indian Air Force as part of its “irrefutable evidence” to assert that it shot down an F-16 fighter jet of Pakistan during the aerial combat over Nowshera in Jammu and Kashmir. In a media briefing , the IAF showed graphic pictures from the Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) in respect of the downed F-16. It , therefore , vindicates the stand of the Government that it furnished credible information to the people right from day one that IAF pilot Abhinandhan Varthaman had engaged with one of the Pakistani F-16s and shot it down before his MiG-21 Bison was downed but that country had been denying having lost any of its aircraft.
This should put at rest any type of spreading any further canards by Pakistan to claim not having lost any F-16 for two considerations in its own flawed scheme of things , firstly -for its domestic consumption and secondly- rather more importantly, to convince American authorities that it had not violated the terms of getting and using the said fighter jets from that country.
