KPC’s concern over grabbing of Jawala Ji land, submits memorandum to HM, CM

NEW DELHI, Feb 18: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) in its meeting here today held under the chairmanship of Kundan Kashmiri its president and head of AKPWS, Haridwar grave concern was expressed over the failure of the administration for not taking action against land grabbers of Shri Jawala Ji Shrine in Khrew, in Pulwama district of South Kashmir.
The meeting said that the land of shrine has been illegally occupied The land grabbers of Jawala Ji Shrine continue their illegal activity by disposing of this shrine land after carving out plots for sale. They are also making all efforts to encroach the land of Cremation ground and Shishoo Samadhi for their personal benefits and carrying out illegal activities in odd hours for digging the people and taking away clay from the sacred areas of the shrine for selling purpose.
Kundan Kashmiri has also submitted a memorandum to Home Minister of India, Governor and Chief Minister of J&K appealing them that all arrangements need to be made to protect and evict the entire land of Shri. Jawala Ji Shrine from land grabbers.
He said over 1000 kanals of land belonging to shrine has been grabbed and that should be restored to it immediately. This land includes 67 kanals of agriculture and saffron land at village Khrew, Pulwama, Kashmir and the same land be restored to the Samiti of the shrine at the earliest. He also appealed for strict restrictions of digging out and taking away clay from the shrine areas for selling purpose.
He urged the Home Minister and other authorities that Cremation Ground and Shishoo Bhoomi be fully protected besides holy spring which was used by Yatris for Pooja and bathing purposes be restored at the earliest to the Samiti of the Shrine.
He expressed his full support to the Jawala Ji Samiti in its struggle for restoration of the land belonging to shrine.
