Driver killed in road accident

RAJOURI, Apr 12: A driver was killed when a mini-truck met with an accident at Nowshera bridge on Jammu-Poonch highway this morning.
A police spokesman said that mishap took place when the milk load carrier No. RJ45 GA 0396, was on way to Jammu from Rajouri after delivering supply to an Army unit. When the vehicle reached Nowshera bridge at around 8 am, the driver apparently under the influence of sleep, lost control and the vehicle after hitting with the side protection wall, was over turned on the bridge.
The driver identified as Rakesh Kumar, son of Ramesh Kumar, resident of Ramnagar in district Udhampur, was rushed to Nowshera hospital in critical condition by police where he was declared as brought dead. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
