Mahavir Jayanti celebrated with gaiety, fervour

JAMMU, Apr 17: As part of ongoing celebrations of birth anniversary of Lord Mahavir, an impressive function was held today at Zorawar Singh Auditorium in the premises of Jammu University.
Programme started with recitation of Mahamantra Navkaar followed by flag hoisting ceremony. Flag was hoisted by Pankaj Jain, president, S.S. Jain Sabha along with other senior members of Jain community.
This was followed by cultural programme which was presented by students of Shri Mahavir Jain Higher Secondary School, Vardhman Bal Vatika and various organizations affiliated to S.S. Jain Sabha.
On the occasion, Prize distribution was also organised by Jain Yuvak Sangh, Jammu to honour the people of Jain Samaaj who excelled in various fields during the year.

Proceedings for prize distribution were conducted by Neerav Jain, general secretary, Jain Yuvak Sangh.
Speaking on the occasion, Shamsher Singh Manhas, Member Parliament stressed upon the need to follow teachings of Lord Mahavira.” jiyo aur jeene do” which are relevant even today particularly in our State.
Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor JMC lauded the role of Jain community for social and economic upliftment of society.
Among others who were present include Kanwar Narayan Singh, president, Rajput Sabha, Leela Karan Sharma, president Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Yash Paul Gupta, president Retailers Federation, Rahul Sahaai, corporator Ward No.2.
Proceedings of the programme were conducted by Sandeep Jain, general secretary, S.S. Jain Sabha.
On the auspicious occasion of Lord Mahavir Janam Kalyanak, Shri Atam Vallabh Jain Nav Yuvak Mandal organized a free service langar for humanity at Karan Market, Jammu today.
The Langar was organized with the blessings and guidance of Vishwamitter Jain, Sudershan Jain, Pawan K Jain and Poonam Jain. Pankaj Jain president, Shri Atam Vallabh Jain Nav Yuvak Mandal said “we have been providing this service from a very long time and would continue it till ages.
On the occasion of Bhagwan Mahavir Jayanti , BJP OBC Morcha organised a halwa bhandara for public in New Plot, Janipur. JMC Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta, Munish Sharma (All Morcha incharge), and Swami Vishawnathan inaugurated the bhandara.
Bhandara was organized by Braham Jyot (State general secretary OBC Morcha and parbhari Jammu West). Others present were Kewal Krishan (general secretary), Sandeep(distt. president), Ankush Khatri (distt. general secretary), Deepak Kumar, Pawan Kumar, social activist Manohar Babber.
