Petrol bomb hurled on NC leader’s house

SRINAGAR, Apr 17: Militants tonight attacked a private vehicle in which personnel of Military Intelligence (MI) were travelling in Khudwani area of Kulgam district and hurled a grenade at a Central Reserve Police Force camp in Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district injuring one jawan.
Two personnel of the MI were injured as militants fired at their vehicle in which they were travelling in Khudwani area of Kulgam district. They were immediately removed for medical aid. They have been identified as Hawaldar Indermny Pandy and Deepak Kumar. One of them is critically injured.
Security forces immediately rushed to the area and launched operations against militants responsible for the attack
Militants this evening lobbed a grenade on 180th Batallion of CRPF at Nowdal in Tral area. One CRPF personnel identified as Head Constable T L Parshad was injured in the attack.
He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Security forces cordoned off the area to nab the militants responsible for the attack.
A petrol bomb was hurled towards the residence of National Conference (NC) leader and former MLA Ali Mohammad Dar in Doniwari area of Chadoora in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district this evening.
A motorcyclist hurled the petrol bomb on the NC leader’s residence and fled from the spot. The bomb exploded inside the premises. However, in the incident there was no damage or injury reported so far.
A personal security guard, PSO of a senior National Conference activist Ghulam Rasool Sofi was injured after being manhandled by a group of people at Anchar area of Soura in Srinagar this afternoon.
The PSO Mohammad Rafiq, a Selection Grade Constable, was beaten up by a group of people while Sofi was inspecting a polling booth at Anchar area.
However, Sofi managed to flee from the spot unhurt.
The policeman Mohammad Rafiq was taken to SKIMS, Soura for treatment where his condition is said to be stable.
Meanwhile, a petrol bomb was tonight hurled at a polling booth located at Government Higher Secondary School, Gurgari Mohalla in Zainakadal area of downtown Srinagar. However, there was no damage. Security forces immediately cordoned off the area.
