JAMMU, Apr 21: Gandhi Nagar police today arrested a drug peddler with 15 grams of heroin.
According to a police official, a police party from police station Gandhi Nagar while performing naka duty at Nanak nagar near Shivaji Chowk signaled a scooty bearing registration number JK02CG-2647 to stop but the scooty rider tried to escape by accelerating the vehicle.
He said the alert naka party caught hold of the scooty rider, who was identified as Kulbir Singh son of Jagjeet Singh, resident of Preet Nagar, Digiana. “On search of the accused, 15 gram of heroin was recovered from his possession,” the official said, adding the accused was arrested and the heroin seized by the police.
In this connection, a case FIR No 105/2019 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at police station Gandhi Nagar and further investigations started. The arrest and recovery was made by a police team led by SHO, police station Gandhi Nagar, Inspector Sunil Jasrotia.
