JAMMU, Feb 20: The Chairman of J&K Board of School Education Dr Sheikh Bashir Ahmad inaugurated the five-day workshop on preparing of textual material of Economics and Financial Literacy’ to be included in the Social Studies textbook of Class 9th and 10th.
The resource persons in the workshop include the eminent expert on J&K Economy, Dr Jasbir Singh from the Department of Economics in JU and Lecturers from higher secondary schools
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman emphasized that it was imperative to give students the knowledge of economic environment as a part of larger social system. He stressed for building awareness among students about basic financial literacy.
The Secretary BOSE Dr Renu Goswami stressed on the resource persons to create material which is simple, precise and easy to understand by the students. She also asked the resource persons to create activity based content in the chapters to be developed.
