Education in rural areas

Sir,
This has reference to the news item ‘Quality education in rural areas (DE, April, 12, 2019). As a beautiful sayings goes like , ” To educate a child is to turn walls into doors . As 65 percent of the Indian population is residing in rural areas, Government has done least for the rural education. The reasons why rural education is lagging are lack of infrastructure and other resources. Provided with a primary school in every village, least has done towards electrification and sanitation of these schools. Low PTR (Pupil Teacher Ratio) and unskilled teachers are some other reasons which cannot be neglected.
Small teams need to be institutionalized to visit the schools in far-flung areas to get account of situation at grass root level and to inspect the schemes like Mid-day meal etc. Street plays need be held in villages to educate them especially the girl students.
