Cop injured in militant attack

SRINAGAR, Apr 26 : A policeman was injured critically after militants attacked police post Chhanapora in Srinagar district of Central Kashmir this evening.
Militants opened fire on the police post in Srinagar injuring a cop. He was removed to Army Base hospital for treatment.
Militants after carrying out the attack managed to escape from the area. Sources said the militants were on a motor cycle and hurled a grenade first and then fired at the cops in which one police man was injured.
Security forces immediately reached the spot to nab the assailants. They carried out searches in the area but militants had fled.
And Security forces this evening fired in air after their vehicles came under intense stone pelting in Pulwama village.
Security forces vehicles came under heavy stone pelting by youth at Murran Chowk in South Kashmir’s Pulwama while they were coming from checking a local school for forthcoming elections in the area.
Security forces resorted to heavy firing in air to disperse the youth. This was second time in a day that clashes erupted in the area. Earlier, after heavy clashes in the area, security forces withdrew.
