BLSKS presents 258th Musical Play ‘Ladli’

JAMMU, Apr 27: To promote the traditional folk culture of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) in close coordination with Sangam Tru Art Production & National College of Computer Education presented its 258th Regular Saturday Series Musical Play ‘Ladli’as part of its regular feature at Open Air Theatre, Durga Bhawan, Janipur,here today.
The programe was inaugurated by the chief guest, Madan Lal Kalotra, former Superintendent Engineer PDD; while VK Magotra, Former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity ,Government of India; JK Raina, Freelancer Producer Director Films; DrAnju Dogra, Health Department, J&K Government; Dr Anupriya Sharma were the guests of honour.
The programme commenced with welcome song presented by the artists and students of BLSKS.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that the scheme aims towards erasing the general perception that birth of a girl in the family is a burden on her parent and in turn addresses the undesirable tendency for female foeticide and will also help to bring the male and female sex ratio balanced by discouraging the killing of a girl child in the womb of the mother and this scheme has been designed for parent to overcome financial difficulties during their daughter’s marriage. The society as a whole needs to change its attitude towards the girl child to end female foeticide.
The welcome address was presented by ML Dogra (Chairman BLSKS).
The Play “Ladli” is written, produced and directed by ML Dogra (Chairman BLSKS).The song sung by the artists and students were “Ladli Beti Hai Ladli Beti ” “Dhiyan Gi Na Marro” ,”Mang Rahi Hai Beti Jag Mai Jine ka Adhikar” ,” Baiman Lok kase Diya mar De” , ” Sun -Sun Saheli Meri Sun, Paruhn Likhu yehi Meri Dhun” ,” Kya Pier Kahun Apne Mann Ki” the music was composed by Sh.Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor BLSKS.
KK Joshi, Vice Chairman BLSKS said the play was aimed to stop female foeticide. The singers, musicians, actors and students of Music and Computer institute who performed in the musical play were Usha Handoo, JK Raina, MC Kotwal, Dhruv Pandit, Chahat Chadha, Kuldeep Raj, Deevam Jandiyal, Rakshit Sharma, Priya Sharma, Bindia Arora, Tilak Raj , Ujwal Sharma, Sakshi Kumari, Vansh, Nikunj, Vishesh Bhat, Gopi, Ganshyam Yadav, Sant Dass, Simran Kumari, Simran Sharma, Nazuk, Raj Kumar Bhat and Sumeeta Bhat.
