JAMMU, Apr 27: Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor, conveyed a meeting of Engineering wing of JMC and took stock of the development works being done within the Jammu Municipal Corporation limits.
Jashpal Singh, Joint Commissioner (Works), Arun Gupta, Xen, JMC, Assistant Executive Engineers & JEs of Civil, Mechanical & Electrical wing attended the meeting. He directed all the Engineering wing to work with dedication & hard work as the development works are done at a very slow speed and require to speed up all the pending and new development activities including parking projects at different places of city and development of parks & green patches as per the guidelines of National green Tribunal.
He said that all the rotaries may be developed and fountains should be installed at suitable places of the city and all the other departments like PWD, PHE, BSNL, JIO etc may be directed to obtain prior permission from JMC before digging any roads/lanes within the Jammu Municipal Corporation Limits . All the contractors who don’t complete or start their allotted works within stipulated time and satisfaction should be blacklisted so that development works may not suffer as the holy Amarnath Yatra is going to be start within few days and pilgrims and tourists visit the Jammu city in large numbers, the Mayor added.
