JAMMU,: Registration process for the religious pilgrimage to Shri Amarnath Cave Shrine of Lord Shiva in south Kashmir, will begin from March 18.
“The process of registering Yatris for this year’s Amarnath Yatra shall commence on March 18 simultaneously for both the Baltal and Chandanwari routes, through 422 Bank Branches,” Navin K Choudhary, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnath Shrine Board in a statement issued here said.
Mr Choudhary, said the Yatris wish to undertake Yatra can register themselves from Registration Counters located all across the country through 422 designated Branches of J&K Bank, YES Bank, State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank and HDFC Bank spread over all the States and Union Territories.
“Details of all the Registration Centres has been made available on the Board’s website, www.Shriamarnathjishrine.Com,” he said adding that pilgrimage shall commence simultaneously, along both the Baltal and the Chandanwari routes, on June 28 and culminate on August 21, the day of Jyeshth Purnima (Raksha Bandhan).
He, however, said that the applicants (pilgrims) shall require to submit Compulsory Health Certificate while seeking registration, the format for which has been circulated by the Union Health Ministry and the J&K State Health Department.
For Yatra 2013, the permit will be of a specified colour for each day of the week, to facilitate police personnel deployed at the access control gates at Domel and Chandanwari in determining whether a pilgrim has the valid permit for the relevant date and route, Choudhary said.
The CEO of SASB further said that the Board will provide every registered yatri with an insurance cover of Rs one lakh against accidental death within the state during the period of one week ahead of the commencement of the Yatra to one week after the conclusion of the religious voyage. (AGENCIES)
