JAMMU, Apr 28: A psychiatric patient died today after she allegedly consumed acid at her residence in Pounichak area of city outskirts.
“The deceased has been identified as Narinder Kour (40) daughter of Charan Singh, resident of Camp Gole Gujral,” a police official said, adding the woman was mentally unstable.
He said this afternoon the woman consumed acid at her residence following which she was rushed by the family members to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where she died after an hour.
“After postmortem, the body was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites while Pounichak police had taken cognizance of the matter,” the official added.
