LEH (LADAKH), Apr 29: Union Minister of State for Home, Kiren Rijiju today lambasted the Congress party for doing “criminal injustice” with the people of Ladakh region during its six decade rule at Centre and in the State.
Addressing the mammoth election rallies at Nyoma in Changthang region near LoC with China and Khalsti in Leh while campaigning for BJP Lok Sabha candidate, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, he appealed to the people to vote for BJP and strengthen the hands of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for development of the Himalayan region which has faced total neglect during Congress and its allies rule at Delhi and in the State.
BJP State president, Ravinder Raina, MLC Tsering Dorjey, party’s MP candidate, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal and other senior leaders from the region also accompanied the Union Minister, Rijiju and addressed the enthusiastic gatherings at Khalsti and Neoma of Ladakh.
Rijiju strongly criticized the Congress party for doing nothing for the people of Leh and Kargil districts. He said out of 72 years of independence, Congress remained in power for 60 years and only plundered the country and did nothing for betterment of common man.
“Congress has unleashed demonic culture of looting the nation’s resources for filling their own pockets, which has done enough harm to the nation and it should be stopped at once’’, he argued.
Kiren Rijiju appealed to the local population to teach Congress a lesson in Ladakh region as the party has only ditched the region for gaining it in its own kitty.
Drawing a culture difference in both the parties, he said Congress is party that only cares and serves a single family while BJP is a party that cares for the whole country, its people irrespective of their caste, religion and region.
Rijiju said Prime Minister, Narendra Modi led BJP Government did record developmental works in the country in a small period of five years. He appealed the locals to strengthen the hands of Modi for taking the development of the region on pace by ensuring enmass voting in favour of BJP.
He assured the people of Ladakh that the young and the dynamic face of Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, with his strong commitment to serve the society, will fulfill all expectations of people of region with the full support from the Central leadership.
He also highlighted various steps taken during last five years of Modi Government in development of Ladakh region to bring it at par with other parts of the country and said BJP is committed to make this area one of the developed regions of the country.
Ravinder Raina, in his address, assured the people of Ladakh that the BJP has put an end to the discrimination that the people of Ladakh were facing for the decades. He said that the same spirit will be carried forward by Jamyang as an MP, when he will lead the development of the region on the front foot.
Jamyang Namgyal, stressed his commitment to develop the region of Ladakh on the most modern lines. He impressed upon the public to vote for the empowerment of the Ladakh by voting in favour of BJP.
The Union Minister of Home who reached here on two days visit of Ladakh region today will also address election rallies in Zanaskar and Nubra tomorrow.
