INTUC celebrates Raising Day

JAMMU, May 3: State unit of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) organized a function in connection with the Raising Day of the organization at its head office, Narwal here today.
The function was held under the chairmanship of Shiv Kumar Sharma, state president, INTUC. Narinder Sharma, State secretary Pradesh Congress Committee was the guest of honour on the occasion while senior INTUC leader, Thakur Raghubir Singh Chib presided over the programme. A large number of INTUC members and workers attended the function.
On this occasion, rich tributes were paid to the visionaries who founded this organization on May 3, 1947 and their contributions for the cause of the working class.
While addressing gathering Shiv Kumar highlighted the objectives and role of INTUC for all round development of the country. He disclosed that INTUC was raised on this day and its founding conference was inaugurated by Acharya JB Kriplani. Sharma said opening first session was attended by the great visionaries of India like, Pt JL Nehru, Babu Jagjivan Ram, Aruna Asif Ali and many more.
INTUC president projected the burning issues/ demands of the working class, state employees and stressed for their redressal. He demanded regularisation of all type of daily rated workers, casual labours, allot sufficient and appropriate place to the displaced Rehri- Phari vendors in Jammu city, enhance medical allowance of the employees etc.
Senior Trade Unionist, RS Reen paid vote of thanks. He stressed upon the Government to implement Central Labour laws in the State.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included- R S Jamwal, Sham Parkash Sharma, Jivan Singh, Ajay Sharma, Raman Kumar, Kuldeep Raj, Ram Paul Saini, Varun Sharma, Joginder Pal, Munshi Ram, Ashok Kumar, Jagdish Singh, Mangal Dass, Banarsi Lal, Naresh Kumar and others.
