JAMMU, May 7: Gangyal police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a driver and recovered five kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gangyal Police Station led by ASI Rakesh Kumar under the supervision of SHO Gangyal SI Nayat Ali laid a naka near Kunjwani and intercepted oil tanker bearing registration number JK02V-7380.
During checking, police team recovered 5 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Raghvir Singh, son of late Harbans Singh of Ekta Vihar, Gangyal.
A case under FIR Number 39/19 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation started.
