KKHMS for simplification of election process for migrants

JAMMU, May 8:Kashmiri Khatri Hindu Maha Sabha(KKHMS) today reiterated its demand of doing away with cumbersome process of M Forms to ensure large scale participation of migrants in the democratic process.
In a statement issued here today Er Ramesh Chander Mahajan chairman of the Sabha said that since the introduction of M Forms in 1996 the migrant voters face lot of problems in casting their vote and in recent elections too the displaced people from Valley could not enmass take part in election process was due to cumbersome process of M Forms and filling up of Form 12 C. he however complimented those migrant voters who braving the scorching that made three rounds to their respective relief offices in getting M Forms later filling them and colleting them in zonal offices to cast the vote.
He also accused the authorities for their failure in updating the electoral rolls of Kashmiri migrants which are full of discrepancies. The names of majority of migrants are missing while in some cases it is wrongly written with incorrect parentage etc. Mahajan said despite repeated pleas the authorities failed to update the same. He demanded that for the coming Assembly poll the Government besides doing away with M Forms should also update the voter lists to ensure the maximum participation ofmigrants in election process.
