MUMBAI: A local court here on Thursday remanded TV actor Karan Oberoi into 14-day judicial custody for allegedly raping and blackmailing a woman.
Earlier, the Oshiwara Police arrested the actor under IPC Sections 376 (rape) and 384 (extortion).
According to police, he allegedly raped the woman on the pretext of marrying her.
The accused was sent into judicial custody as he was produced before the Andheri Court because his previous police custody expired on May 9.
Talking to reporters, the actor’s Advocate Dinesh Tiwari said that a bail plea will be filed tomorrow and the chances of getting a bail are higher. (AGENCIES)
