Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 25 rescued, 4 arrested

JAMMU, May 11: Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 25 cattle and arrested four persons.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Nagrota Police Station led by SHO Inspector Deepak Pathania laid a naka and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JK02U-2969.
During checking, police team rescued 12 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Sham Lal, son of Sai Dass of Camp Gole Gujral and Sajad Ahmed, son of Abdul Majid, a resident of District Anantnag.
A case under FIR Number 204/19 under Section 188 RPC and 3/5 RPC has been registered at Nagrota Police Station and investigation started.
Meanwhile a team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station led by SHO Inspector Shoket Hussain laid a naka and intercepted two persons carrying flock of bovine animals.
During questioning, the persons failed to give satisfactory reply and police team arrested them. Thirteen bovine animals were rescued from their possession.
The arrested persons have been identified as Altaf Mohammad, son of Roshan Din of Laddha Dhar and Mohammad Bashir, son of Roshan Din of Samroli Udhampur.
A case under FIR Number 55/19 under Section 188 RPC has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli Police Station and investigation started.
