JAMMU, May 12: A man was killed today in Jhajjar Kotli area after a case of glass panes fell on him at a shop.
“The deceased has been identified as Rattan Lal son of Indru Ram, resident of Sali (Dansal),” a police official said. He said the mishap occurred this afternoon at about 3:30 at Urmi Glass House.
“At the time of incident no one was present in the shop except the deceased, who was the owner of the shop. The matter came to light when a man from adjoining shop heard a loud noise and found Rattan Lal under a case of the glass panes, which might have fallen on him accidentally,” the official said, adding he was rushed to Primary Health Centre Dansal where doctors declared him as brought dead.
He said the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites after getting conducted postmortem at Primary Health Centre Dansal while inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC were initiated by Jhajjar Kotli police.
